A muffled speaker may not be the only part exposed. Prioritize the whole device before trying to improve audio.
The first ten minutes
- Move the phone away from liquid.
- Unplug cables and accessories safely.
- Wipe visible moisture.
- Do not shake the device hard.
- Place it somewhere stable and ventilated.
Charging caution
A cleaning tone does not dry the charging port or prove the phone is safe to charge.
Is a sound test reasonable?
For light exposure and otherwise normal behavior, vibration may help a droplet near the opening. Skip it and seek help after long submersion, salt water, heat, unusual smells, shutdowns, or charging trouble.
If sound does not improve
Do not repeat indefinitely or keep raising volume. Review the repair and safety limits.
