A splash can make a speaker sound quiet or raspy. First limit further exposure and give moisture a path away from the opening.

Do these things first

  1. Remove the phone from water.
  2. Disconnect cables safely.
  3. Wipe the outside with a clean dry cloth.
  4. Set the phone in a dry, ventilated place.

Can a water-removal sound help?

A cleaning sound moves the speaker diaphragm and may push a small droplet through the grille. It cannot reach liquid deep inside the phone. Use the safe-use instructions.

What not to do

  • No hair dryer, oven, or direct heat
  • No pins, swabs, or rolled tissue
  • No compressed air or added liquid
  • No charging while a port may be wet

When repair is safer

Seek help for charging warnings, heat, swelling, odd smells, random shutdowns, screen problems, or persistent crackling.
